Vice President

 

Lane Mitchell, the oldest and most tenured of the 3rd generation of leadership for G. W. Mitchell Construction, was born in Boston while his father, Melvin, was earning his Master’s degree from MIT. Lane was raised in San Antonio and went on to earn a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University, where he also lettered in cross country and track. After starting his career in 1980 at Brown & Root (now KBG) where he spent 2 ½ years as a cost engineer on various projects around the world, Lane moved to G.W. Mitchell in 1982 and spent two years heading up a multi family specialty company in the mid eighties. Lane is active in the Associated General Contractors (AGC) having served as the San Antonio chapter president. He is currently serving on the Texas Building Branch board and is chairman of the national IT Forum Steering committee for AGC.

 

Lane is active at Trinity Baptist Church, serving on the Board of Trustees and singing in the church choir. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, running the roads of Alamo Heights in the morning, and fishing on the Texas coast. Lane and his wife Charlotte are the parents of two daughters.
