Chairman of the Board

 

Melvin Mitchell is of the 2nd generation of leadership for G. W. Mitchell Construction. Born and raised in San Antonio, he earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and went on to receive an MS in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Melvin has over 50 years of experience in general contracting with over $280 million in completed projects. Melvin is an active member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, actively participates in the Rotary Club Bowling League, and enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is currently a member of the Rotary Club of San Antonio, Conopus Club, The 12th Man Foundation at Texas A & M University and The Association of Former Students at Texas A & M University.

 

Melvin is the proud father of Lane, Bill and Andy, the leadership of the G. W. Mitchell Construction team.  He has eight grandchildren (seven Aggies and one Baylor graduate) and eleven great grandchildren.
